CONSUMER CREDIT FILE RIGHTS UNDER STATE AND FEDERAL LAW
You have the right to dispute inaccurate information in your credit report by contacting the credit reporting agency directly.
You are not required to purchase any services from a credit repair organization to dispute inaccurate, incomplete, or unverifiable information in your credit file. Federal law gives you the right to dispute credit report information on your own, at no cost.
Credit reporting agencies must investigate disputed information and respond, generally within 30 days.
If you choose to work with a credit repair organization, you have the right to receive a written contract stating the services to be provided, the total cost, and the terms of payment.
You have the right to cancel any contract with a credit repair organization within three (3) business days from the date you sign the contract, for any reason, without penalty or obligation.
Credit repair organizations are prohibited by law from making misleading or false statements about their services and from charging consumers before services are fully performed.
